Hundreds of thousands of people, mostly women, and children (some unaccompanied) continue to flee insecurity, conflict, and violence within Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, in search of refuge from attacks by non-state armed groups on civilians. The result… a surge of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) with nowhere to go.

They arrive hungry, dehydrated, scared, and in desperate search of shelter from the elements, especially for their infants and children, in an environment that experiences extremely high temperatures and a rainy season characterized by cyclones.

HOW YOU CAN ASSIST

As part of our response to this, UNICEF and JAM are supporting the resettlement sites with emergency latrines, water supply, shelter, hygiene products, blankets, mosquito nets and other necessities all to protect lives, reduce human suffering, restore human dignity, and protect infants and young children from exposure.

By making a donation, your contribution will be used where the need is greatest as we continue to resettle families into a community they can call home.

WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE?

After this initial emergency response, JAM will transition to early recovery and will focus mainly on provision of seeds and tools as well as training the resettlement site communities in agriculture to increase their access to food.
